Here’s an idea – Blooming Tea. What? Petale Teas – Hope in a Teapot

Janiqueel takes a look at, for her, a new concept – tea and flowers blended so they BLOOM. What?

Where flowers bloom so does hope.

Lady Bird Johnson

If you are cold, tea will warm you;
if you are too heated, it will cool you;
If you are depressed, it will cheer you;
If you are excited, it will calm you

William Ewart Gladstone

Take a sewn tea ball made with a blend of organic Maofeng green tea and dried flowers, put it in a glass pot or large cup. You’ll want to use a clear glass if you have one, or large wine glass if you don’t. Yes, any heat-resistant material will work, but the astonishing joy of watching the tea brew and bloom is a large part of the charm of Petale Blooming Teas. As you wait, the aroma of whatever source of the tea will tickle your olfactory receptors as the spectacle of a flower unfolding in the pot greets your vision.

Blooming tea – It’s something else!

To find out more about the concept and the teas we went to the Singapore source, Rosemary Kwa, Business Development Manager of Petale Tea. She explains that the tea comes from a renowned tea source – Fujian, China – where it is blended and manufactured before being sent to the Garden City. Admittedly, F&B outlets have been shuttered during this circuit breaker period, but as Lady Bird Johnson has it “Where flowers bloom so does hope!” Soon, My Friend, we will able to visit the special shops where Petale Teas are on offer. We must believe. Soon. Soon.

Petale Teas is the only purveyor of blooming teas in Singapore. OK, but… What are blooming teas? To start with, they are Maofeng green tea and “dried flowers such as jasmine, osmanthus, gomphrena, marigold, rose, lavender and lily.” Place this ball into the glass pot. Remember, you’ll want to see the tea and smell it before tasting. We’re talking about a multi-sensory experience here. NOT your usual cuppa. Are you ready? Your guests will love the experience blended with the health and beauty benefits of organic tea. So will you. Even when you are all alone a Petale Blooming Tea will make you feel better. I promise.

Ready to try? We asked Rosemary Kwa, Which products would you recommend as a “tester” for those unfamiliar with Petale? Ever helpful, she quickly replied, “Our assorted packs will be a good choice as gifts for first-timers. Each assorted pack comes with six blooms. Typically, the six types of blooms come in three natural green tea and three flavored ones.” Delicious anytime, the teas are “…perfect with desserts including cakes & cookies. Helps to cleanse the palate and is a perfect match with sweet stuff.”

Something else – PETALE TEAS. Invite some friends when it is appropriate to do so or enjoy the solitude of the circuit breaker and let good cheer and calmness BLOOM.
