Review: Out and about with my newborn and BabyZen YOYO+ Stroller

As a first time mum, I am overwhelmed by the plethora of stroller brands in the market. Just which stroller should I go for?

By keeping close to what I have in mind, I manage to eliminate brands that don’t meet my requirements and eventually, I narrowed down to one stroller brand that fits all my needs.

With help of my friends from Bove by Spring Maternity and Babyzen, I managed to get my hands on the BABYZEN YOYO+ 0+ Newborn Stroller in the new Ginger colour for me and baby C.  It comes in a nice light pink (just like the sushi ginger colour), how lovely! (There’s also Peppermint and six other colours to choose from) Just exactly what I need at the moment!

Lightweight. Check. Compact. Check. Easy to manoeuvre. Check. Easy to fold and unfold. Check. Can bring on travels. Check. Stylish and eye-catching. Check. Car Seat Adaptable. Check. It appears that I have found the one for me and baby C.

How does BABYZEN YOYO+ make my life easier as a mum?
Immediately, I put the BABYZEN YOYO+ stroller to the test.  It proved to be very easy to push and manoeuvre, and the stroller remain stable the whole time.  Baby C seems so comfortable in it! I could tell right away that this stroller is a keeper that can last for years. The major highlight of the stroller is that it’s so lightweight (only 6.6kg for the 0+ and 6.2kg for the 6+). Yet, it is still sturdy, which is great. As an avid and regular traveller, I would love to take it on holiday as it would make life so much easier. It fits as a cabin baggage on flights and tops the chart as an ideal travel/smart stroller.  It is also incredibly easy to open even with one hand (while carrying the baby) which is fantastic.  It’s so useful especially when I’m out alone with baby C that I don’t have to scramble to open and close the stroller.

The YOYO+ 0+ Newborn stroller can also be converted to a forward facing stroller by changing the newborn nest to a 6+ seat pad once baby C reaches 6 months old.  Which means that I don’t have to buy a brand new stroller when baby C gets older, as I can use back the same frame, which makes the YOYO+ a real deal that’s worth every penny.  What’s more, it comes with two years international warranty.

What’s the storage like?
The storage under the stroller is acceptable for a lightweight travel system (it can carry a load of up to 5kg).  There is a zip pocket behind the canopy which can keep my diapers and knick knacks and I can also attach velcro hooks on the handle bar to carry my shopping bags.

Why I would recommend BABYZEN YOYO+ to my friends/fellow mums?
I love the compactness of it. It’s so lightweight and perfect for getting into the back of the car. Really easy to fold and great to push, ensuring a smooth ride at every turn due to its inbuilt soft drive system and suspension at both the front and back wheels.  I just loved the look of it, so classy and stylish (I can change the fabric colours anytime I want) and I’ve gathered so many compliments of it so far. A total winner in my eyes. I would highly recommend BABYZEN YOYO+ to any mum out there.

Being in Singapore with our unpredictable weather, we had a chance to put the rain cover to the test. It comes together with the stroller in its own storage bag, as does the whole stroller, and fits on easily with velcro.  It was a little fiddly at first, but it proves to be secure and the extra support which holds it away from your baby’s legs gives him plenty of breathing space, great for little ones who hate having the rain cover on.  The YOYO+ also comes with several other accessories to compliment the YOYO+ like the infant car seat, YOYO+ Board, insect net, cup holder, parasol, travel bag etc.  Do check them out!

All in all, I would give the BABYZEN YOYO+ Stroller 5 out of 5 stars under the travel stroller category and would definitely convert it to a YOYO+ 6+ once baby C is 6 months and older so that I can continue to use it when I go out or on my travels.
