The week-long programme runs across three sessions in November and December 2026, allowing students to experience lessons, boarding life and campus activities before committing to overseas education.
For families considering overseas education, one of the biggest decisions is knowing whether their child is ready for the independence that comes with living away from home. This November and December, Singapore students can experience British boarding school life first-hand through Epsom College Malaysia’s Boarding Taster Programme. The top 20 applicants selected through the school’s assessment process willreceive complimentary access to the week-long experience.
Epsom College Malaysia, the first sister school of Epsom College in the UK founded in 1855, offers Singapore families access to a British boarding education experience closer to home.Located just 15 minutes from Kuala Lumpur International Airport and approximately an hour’s flight from Singapore, the school allows students to gain overseas exposure while staying connected with their families.
The Boarding Taster Programme gives students a first-hand introduction to life as an Epsom boarder. Over the course of a week, participants will stay in a Boarding House, attend lessons, take part in co-curricular activities and experience the daily routines of Epsom students.
Interested students will first complete an application form, including details of their academic background and recent results. Applicants will then sit for a short assessment as part of the selection process. Upon selection, students will be paired with a current Epsom student buddy and attend lessons alongside them throughout the programme, gaining first-hand insight into the school’s academic environment and daily routine.
Three taster sessions will take place this year, each running from Friday to Friday and limited to 20 students:
- Session 1: 13th November to 20th November
- Session 2: 23rd November to 27th November (Weekday Only)
- Session 3: 27th November to 4th December
“Boarding is not simply about where students live, but how they grow. It provides opportunities for young people to develop responsibility, confidence and resilience while learning to navigate new experiences,” said Mrs Avis Parker, Head of School at Epsom College Malaysia. “At Epsom, our holistic approach combines academic excellence, wellbeing support and a diverse range of activities, allowing students to discover their strengths both inside and outside the classroom.”
Its Singapore Weekday Boarding option allows students to board from Monday to Friday, with the option to return home to Singapore during weekends and school holidays. This approach allows students to embrace the benefits of boarding while continuing to spend meaningful time with their families.
Annual fees for the Singapore Weekday Boarding option range from approximately S$42,000–43,200, inclusive of tuition, Monday-to-Friday boarding, meals and co-curricular activities.
Beyond academics, students are supported by Epsom’s dedicated wellbeing network, includingHousemasters and Housemistresses, resident tutors, matrons, academic tutors and a school counsellor. The 50-acre campus also offers nearly 150 co-curricular activities each term, alongside specialist sports programmes.
Epsom College Malaysia is one of only six schools worldwide to hold COBIS Double Beacon status, recognising excellence in student welfare and school leadership. Its 2026 A-Level cohort achieved 72% A*-B grades, with graduates receiving offers from universities including Oxford,Imperial College London, and London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE).
The Boarding Taster Programme provides families with a first-hand understanding of whether boarding education is the right fit for their child, allowing students to experience the academic, social and personal aspects of life at Epsom before making a longer-term decision.
Applications for Term 2 (January 2027) entry close in mid-December 2026, while the school’s main entry point remains August 2027.
