Get ready to step into a whimsical world of knights, dragons, and enchanting castles as Marina Square’s annual Balloon Exhibition makes a triumphant return from the 9th to the 17th of March 2024. Perfectly timed for the March school holidays, this captivating event promises a display of mesmerizing balloon creations that will transport visitors to a realm of magic and wonder.
A Fairy Tale Wonderland
Marvel at the creativity of 60 talented balloon artists from 9 different countries, who have come together to craft a spectacular 6,500-square-foot display in Marina Square’s central atrium. Featuring approximately 250,000 balloons, the exhibition boasts a magnificent castle, galloping knights, and breathtaking dragons that await eager visitors.
Adding a heartwarming touch to the event, Marina Square is extending an invitation to 30 beneficiaries from Care Corner Student Care Centre. These young participants, aged between seven to 12 years old, will have the opportunity to unleash their creativity during a balloon-making workshop, creating their own balloon sculptures to take home as cherished souvenirs.
Journey Through the Balloon Kingdom
Enter the central atrium encircled by grand castle walls, where open portcullises beckon visitors into a magical realm. The centerpiece is a breathtaking 7.2-meter-high castle, spanning 16 meters wide. Guests can walk through the castle on a red carpet, exploring the throne room adorned with balloon portraits, gold chests, swords, and armor. The enchanting atmosphere continues with an adorable prince, a 5-meter-tall dragon, a beautiful princess, and unicorns, creating perfect photo opportunities for visitors.
A Royal Masquerade and Balloon Workshops
Children are invited to enter the realms of castles and dragons by dressing up as knights, princes, or princesses. Costumes are available for rent at $5, subject to size and availability on a first-come-first-served basis.
For those eager to learn the art of balloon crafting, Marina Square offers Balloon Workshops on 9th, 10th, 16th, and 17th March at 4:30 pm. Pre-registration is required, with limited slots available per session. Parents and children can participate for $20 per team, with each team receiving a voucher to redeem a $5.80 cookie from Nasty Cookie. Themes for the workshops include Dinosaurs and Unicorns on specific days.
