Had dinner at G House Dempsey with my girlfriends a few days ago. A well-deserve break from our hectic work schedule.
I have an impression that Dempsey is a place filled with expensive restaurants. After my visit to Dempsey a few days ago, there are some affordable places and one of them is G House at Blk 10.
Compliments from the chef is sake lime. Refreshing and subtly sweet. Perfect for the hot weather in Singapore. Cheers!
We started with King Crab Rillettes , Pear and Roquefort Tart Salad and Foie Gras. Ambitious.
I love how generous they are with the greens for the Pear and Roquefort Tart Salad ($17.90).King Crab Rillettes ($19.90) – The king crab meat was fresh and goes very well with the apple-fennel compote and grilled brioche.I am no fan of Foie Gras ($8.90). It’s something of an acquired taste. However, this melted in my mouth. Gosh. It’s so good.
We were pretty full from all the starters.
Grilled Spicy Squid ($26.90, Left), served with home-made sambal jam. Squid is nice and tender. The Glazed Miso Gindara ($33.90) is a tad too sweet however the scallion mash balances it out. Entrecote Ribeye Steak ($29.90) – the cut and doneness were otherwise fine for me, and reasonable for the price.Lemon Meringue Tart ($8.90) is tasted subtly and fresh. A good dessert to end the night.
