Can you believe that it’s just one year ago that Silent Disco was unleashed on Singapore!? It seems like longer, but maybe that because the concept has been such a hit since landing on these shores in May of last year.
In just a short twelve months the Silent Disco Asia brand has established itself as THE go-to party for a pure unadulterated “good night out” and since their sell out launch weekend have featured at some of Singapore’s most prominent events including Neon Lights festival, Clarke Quay Fountain, Star Wars Festival at Gardens by the Bay and perhaps their most impressive achievement – a month long pop-up Silent Disco nightclub as part of iLight Marina Bay 2017!
If you’re not familiar with what happens at one of their infamous parties, erm, well where have you been hiding!?
At a Silent Disco Asia party there are three DJs playing three different styles of music simultaneously and they are colour coded as RED, BLUE and GREEN. Sounds weird to colour code DJs right, but not when you realise that as a party-goer you are given a set of LED equipped headphones to listen to the music through, and you can seamless flick between the different channels to listen to the different DJs. There could be rock and indie anthems grooves on the green channel, house and EDM music on red and the latest pop classics on
blue – and it’s up to you to decide what tunes you want to bounce (or sing badly) to.
And for all you social media addicts, an added bonus is that the Silent Disco Asia headphones glow and look pretty cool on Instagram and Facebook so you’ll get the chance to snap some pretty fine selfies!
So what is going to make the 1st Birthday event special?
Well, the organisers promise that Silent Disco Asia’s 1st Birthday will the BIGGEST EVER Silent Disco that Singapore has ever seen! And to compliment this a host of Singapores’s finest DJs will be bringing the musical heat to the party.
Venue wise we’re not surprised to see Silent Disco return to their spiritual home, Kult Kafe – the stunning open-air colonial building on the top of Emily Hill which is one of the few venues that can accommodate an event this large.
