Art can harness the healing energy within each of us. It helps with building motor skills and neural connections, enhances communication through creativity and imagination, boosts mood and self-esteem, and most importantly connects with self, people and community.

We all seek connection, and it is this connection that underpins the meaning of art and healing.

Healing, as the word suggests, is not a destination. It does not have a fixed timeline or pathway that is linear, nor is it homogeneous. Healing is a journey that comprises different sights, routes and experiences for different individuals. Just like how each visit to the art museum is a different experience for everyone.

“As Parkway Cancer Centre turns 18, we wish to start the year of celebration on a positive and charitable note,” says Dr Khoo Kei Siong, Deputy Medical Director and Senior Consultant, Medical Oncology, Parkway Cancer Centre. “Together, we can achieve strength, hope and vitality to live life to the fullest.”
